Code Crux Terms & Conditions
Terms of Service
Effective Date: October 13, 2025 · Official Contact: [email protected]
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Code Crux software, including the web IDE at codecrux.us/ide, the website, APIs, or native desktop applications (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Absolute Code Ownership & Intellectual Property
We hold a foundational commitment to developer ownership:
You retain 100% intellectual property rights, copyright, and title to any code, algorithms, repositories, designs, or textual content that you open, edit, create, or compile within Crux. Code Crux claims zero ownership, license, or rights to your source code.
Crux logos, brand assets, source code of the Crux software itself, trademarks, and documentation are the proprietary property of Code Crux and are protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.
3. Acceptable Use & Security Rules
To guarantee that no hacker or malicious actor can compromise the platform, infrastructure, or fellow developers, you agree that you will not:
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent access verification gates, rate limiters, or authentication mechanisms.
- Conduct unauthorized penetration testing, denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, or vulnerability scanning against Code Crux servers or signaling relays.
- Transmit malware, viruses, worms, or malicious scripts through collaborative WebRTC peer channels.
- Use the Service to transmit unsolicited spam, mass marketing communications, or violate third-party privacy.
- Impersonate any person, peer, or entity, or falsely claim affiliation with Code Crux.
4. Local Execution & Third-Party LLMs
Crux facilitates execution of local commands, terminals, and model inference directly on your hardware:
- You are exclusively responsible for the terminal commands, scripts, and software you execute on your local machine using Crux.
- When connecting third-party AI APIs (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI), your usage is governed by the terms and policies of those respective providers.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Code Crux does not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs during preview and beta phases.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Code Crux, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits or data resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
7. Termination & Modifications
We reserve the right to suspend or revoke access credentials or terminate access to preview instances for users who violate these Terms, without prior notice. We may update these Terms periodically by posting the revised version with an updated effective date.
